Iatrogenic Airway Complications and Alternative Intubation Techniques

Endotracheal intubation is a relatively straight forward procedure in dogs and cats but it is not without risks if performed improperly. An anesthetist should never assume endotracheal intubation is going to be straightforward. Always be prepared for a difficult intubation. This lecture will discuss common complications associated with intubation and extubation as well as alternative intubation techniques should a difficult airway be present.
