In this presentation, five commonly asked questions on the use of alfaxalone in dogs and cats will be answered. These include answering the questions if alfaxalone can be administered for Cesarean sections and can it be administered to dogs suspected or known to have the MDR1 gene mutation. Using the best of evidence-based and peer-reviewed medicine, the effect of alfaxalone on laryngeal function, intraocular pressure, and echocardiographic measurements in dogs and cats will be discussed.
