Orthobiologics for Osteoarthritis and Joint Pain

The purpose of this presentation is to describe the most common orthobiologics that are used intra-articularly in order to control pain and discomfort. Specifically, we will discuss platelet-rich plasma, autologous conditioned serum, autologous protein solution, bone marrow aspirate and bone marrow aspirate concentrate, stromal vascular fraction, and cultured stem/stromal cell therapy. We will evaluate the data available describing the efficacy of these treatments in canine patients. At the end of the presentation attendees will be familiar with these different orthobiologics and the data supporting, or refuting, their application in dogs.
